Located in Oakland, California, Lakeshore Homes Association (LHA) is the second oldest homeowners association west of the Mississippi.

Origins

Initial development by Wickham Havens and Walter H. Leimert began in June of 1917. The Lakeshore Homes Association was incorporated on October 4, 1917. Read more about our history.

Lakeshore Homes Association includes 1,055 properties covering approximately 200 acres.

Parks and Open Spaces

There are nine locations within LHA’s boundaries which are maintained by the Association through a yearly assessment.

Street Plan

The street plan was designed by the Olmsted Brothers of Brookline, Massachusetts.

Office

Lakeshore Homes Association has an office at 907 Underhills Road staffed by part-time administrators.

Management

Lakeshore Homes Association is led by a volunteer Board of Directors and three major committees (Parks, Neighborhood Preservation, and LHA Neighbor Network). For details, read here.
