Oakland FREE HHW Drop-Off Event – includes mattress disposal

“Here’s one more way to get out of the summer doldrums, go through the garage, under the sink and get rid of stuff you don’t need, like leftover paint, pesticides, old electronics and computers. You can bring all of your leftover hazardous products to the free Drop-Off Event at the Oakland Coliseum. For the first time, Alameda County residents can drop off mattresses and box springs.

• Register for a drop off time and you’ll receive event details and packing instructions. If you’re dropping off mattresses only, you don’t need to register for an appointment.
• The event is free for all Alameda County homeowners and renters. There are dedicated drop off times and a separate process for business owners.

This event is sponsored by Alameda County Household Hazardous Waste with support from the city of Oakland and StopWaste – a public agency whose mission is to reduce waste in Alameda County.
